How do you get 3 bolts off of 92-95 catalytic converter???

How do you get 3 bolts off of 92-95 catalytic converter???
I have been trying to get the three bolts off the back end of my 92 si's catalytic converter now for two days. It doesn't seem like the 14mm socket or wrench fit it correctly and when i begin hammer to break it loose it starts to want to strip it. If anyone can give me any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Alllen

Let it soak in Lithium grease. That's what I did when I needed to take those stubborn bolts off of my exhaust.

Where can i get lithium grease? and do i just submerge the whole thing in it?

just break those bitchs and get new ones...not like you will be able to reuse them anyways...or just get a sawzall and cut them off...its not worth the time to try and wrench them off...then go to the hardware store and find some match bolts and nuts and you'll be all set

It comes in a spray can and most automotive parts stores should have it. Just spray it at the bolt, and repeat as it dries

NO!!! Don't break 'em if you don't need to...heh..
torch those mo' foes and once it gets glowing red hot, splash some cold water over 'em and then impact that sucker right away..should get 'em off good. peace.

this is what i did when i had to put on new exhaust systems for 4 different cars (yes, and all 4 of them had those bolts rusted to hell):
1)put brake fluid on those bolts, leave them on the nuts for an hour or so. (yes, brake fluid, it works when wd-40 and all the other stuff doesn't! just be really careful not to get any on your paint!)
2)try to take them off, (a lot of times if they still don't come off, you WILL round off those nuts; you can 1)get one of those cheap sockets of a smaller size and hammer them on to nut, then take it off. 2)use a metwrench socket (always works for me)
3)after trying everything on top, and it still wouldn't come off, just cut them off, and you can drill out of whats left of the stud from the cat, then go get some new nuts and bolts from the hardware store.

impact wrench yo...either that or some lube and mucho muscle lol...try NOT to break the bolts unless u have spares...but sometimes it is easier to cut them and replace them if they are that rusted together or something, good luck
