Default How do you avoid being tagged as a "ricer"?

I always hear all kinds of stuff about Ricers and it seems like Honda and Ricer's go together pretty well. Sometimes I see a nice well taken care of Honda and some people tag it as a ricer.
I understand part of it but I don't really get the whole picture. I've looked around on the web and seen some ridiculous pictures of Civics but every now and then I'll see just a nice taken care of Civic sitting in a parking lot and the website tags it as being a ricer....

So if I go out and change the rims from stock and get a better paint job along with some better interior changes and some newer window tint for my Civic that the previous owner didn't take care of am I gonna be considered a ricer?

I like my Civic and just want it to look nice and clean and don't want it to be tagged as a ricer so if anyone can explain the whole thing to me I'd appreciate it.

I'm new to cars and still learning so don't be mean lol

let me explain.

youre a ricer.

someone who picks up a honda for no other reason than to have the car everyone else has, or because its what the inherited from aunt gertrude when she passed away (RIP) is a ricer.

ill key you in on this, and you might not understsnad it until you leave this site, but i would say 90% of this site is ricers/fanboys.

everyone and their brother will disagree with this or claim to be in the 10% but the cold hard fact is that 90% of this site only has the honda to "fit in" or because thats the car they got stuck with when they were 16 and now they are 19 and still driving it.

you want ot get in with the "10%" of honda owners? stay away from this forum, learn how to build motors and join the SCCA.

thats my 2 cents, and those 2 cents will break a lot of fan boy hearts.

i usually consider hondas/acuras/ bunch of other imports RICERS when...
1. they have a cheap *** body kit that fits like ****
2. a big *** wing on the trunk that makes the car look like its ready to fly
3. a exhaust that just doesn't sound pleasant to the human ears...(fart can)
4. 2 steelies in the front and 2 racing rims on the back lol i hate that
5. there is way more crazy things peope do to their cars to rice em out that you wouldn't even believe

nice rims and a nice paint job doesn't mean it's a ricer at all, its just a way of showing that you take pride in your car and like to keep it looking nice
