Re: (JDMlifestyle)
Where do you put your jackstands? I just put mine under the side jackpoints and jack it up either in the front jackpoint or rear... easier that way.

Not True. IF you are idling in hot weather (aka FL) the coolant/water will rush though the radiator too fast for it to be cooled. Your car will overheat if it idles for a long period of time without a thermostat (depends on the cooling system too, AKA if you have a good system, it will take long to over heat BUT it will overheat). </TD></TR></TABLE>
I stand corrected on that part, haven't been to FL
That's why I throw in a plate I was describing earlier

what kind of bull **** is that? if your coolant goes through the radiator too fast, you will have excessive cooling...and your engine cant over heat beacuse its cooling more volume/minute

i did a test on the the car. the car ran for 43 mins before the temperature gauge went past its normal spot. as soon as i got on it the temperature gauge dropped dramatically.

You mean you give the car throttle and the temp went down? You are not running a thermostat?

i have a thermostat with 5 1/16th holes drilled in it. and the temperature went down when i drove the car. the temperature will be fine at idle while its parked if i turn the fan on.

nope its sounds like ur Temperature sensor may have went bad or something happened to the connection. unless ur not running a thermostat

You open the 10mm bleeder screw on top of the thermostat housing and fill the radiator slowly. If you fill it too fast, you will create a huge bubble in the engine block and the engine will overheat. Of course you closed the bleeder screw when you are done filling it.

Re: How to: change thermostat (Redline96LX)
damn you replaced the entire center section of you exhaust. My "test" pipe replaced just the cat.
nice write-up. Seems a little trivial IMHO. But nice job anyway.

Question for some one, ever since I put a new stock Thermostat in my car, the CEL comes on I belive it throws a code 13 or 14, did I forget to hook something back up? If I turn the car off and turn it back on when it gets warmed up the CEL goes away, any ideas? Car Runs Fine.

13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
to be honest i have never had any experience with the code 13.
the code 14 is prolly cause of the filter/screen on the IACV needs a cleaning.

It just seems wierd that it started after I change my thermostat, I checked again and I seems to be a code 14 ICA. Where is the filter/screen that needs to be cleaned?

the idle air control valve is on the back of the intake manifold. if you are looking at the engine the sensors on the manfiold will be in this order
MAP TPS IACV
it will have a black cylinder on it. remove the 2 12mm bolts and remove the 2 coolant hoses on the IACV. then there will be a screen. use some carb cleaner or brakleen. i use the sea foam parts cleaner..
Then reinstall the iacv and be sure to bleed the cooling system when your done cause u have allowed the cooling system to get air into it.
