HOW TO: Change from stock exhaust to JDM Bling (56k warning)
Hello. After a small dilemma with a bent tip, I got another T1R exhaust shipped from R&D. Here is how to install a 65mm exhaust on a Civic.
Nice boxes from Japan (although UPS likes to beat them up)
1st, jack up the car
Then, make sure you support the car with jackstands.
You have to undo 5 bolts. 2 on the rear section:
...and 3 on the b-pipe to cat flange:
After you undo the bolts, the muffler and b-pipe will be hanging from 4 rubber hangers. 2 on the muffler:
...and 1 on the resonator and 1 on the end of the b-pipe:
Here is the stock muffler after removal.
Remove the rubber hangers from the car and the old exhaust will drop. Look at all that space!
Install the new exhaust by reversing the removal directions...
Here is the new T1R installed.

To this:
I ordered from Mike at IPS
Dave at R&D and A&J for replacements
EDIT: Sorry no b-pipe pics. Camera ran out of batteries mid-way through the install.

looks nice....I'm ordering the b-pipe now to go with my Spoon n1
I was originally getting the old type one but waiting for 6 months sucked and I went with the n1 instead.

i was planning on buying a T1R for my 92 Si. will it fit as nice as yours? i know that the jic n1 is angled like the apexi n1. just want to make sure mine will be as clean and straight as yours. T1R means Type One. The Type One exhausts at R and D motorsports right? thanks a lot
