Default how can you tell if a fuel pump is going bad? 93 civic-b16

well ive been having problems starting my car lately. sometimes i dont hear my fuel pump ingage when i turn the key half ways, and doesnt start. sometimes i do hear it, it starts, and then dies right away. its been going on like this for awhile, just started getting worse lately.

and if i do need a new one, do i buy one to match b16 or the 93 civic. cuz i looked online and its seems to be different parts.

if anyone could help that would be great.
thanks

it could be your main relay;that controls your fuel pump but if you find out that it is your fuel pump get one for the car not for the motor are you throwing any codes

i'm have the exact same problem with my d series motor, i haven't got the chance to see what it is tho, but i thought about it being the main relay, i'm not quite sure how to check that though =/

the civic is putting less lph (liters per hour). i rather get the one for the motor and not the car.

i have gsr fuel pump in my civic for the b18c.

If the main relay doesn't klick, open the door and hit the left side of the dashboard, works everytime, you can also keep the starter going while hitting the side of the dashboard and the car will start. If the car has been in the sun for a while, thats enough to make the realy not click, or if the car has been used for like 10minutes.

wow. never thought of hitting the side of the dash. im thinkin it may be the main relay, because its starts every morning, during the day when i drive it in this AZ heat is when i have the most problems. also when it sits in the sun all day, it wont klick until the its starts cooling off. and at night, it always starts..

think is could be the main relay?
if soo how much do they run
