Honda on Propane gas, any problems?
Hello guys,
I want to ask does somebody in the States tried running his Honda on propane gas?
My brother has D15B7 and drive it on propane back in Europe.
A lot of people drive their vehicles on propane actually, because gas there is about $6 per gallon. They use over there gas enjection systems which include all the hoses, gas tank, evaporator and so on.
My question is what would be the harm to the engine, since is not constructed to work on propane?
My brother recently told me that his O2 sensor is out of order.
Could this be consequent to gas usage. He drive on propane 2 years already.

Re: Honda on Propane gas, any problems?
I've seen CNG Civics stateside - these are mostly used by municipalities since the fuel is also available to, and used by public busses.
I've never seen a propane powered vehicle, personally. Almost any petrol (gas) engine can run on either CNG (or propane I guess) as they are both very similar.
Propane would have a higher energy density and would probably use a lighter tank.

Its fairly popular in off-road/Rock Crawlers. Here a short FAQ from a company that sells kits:
