Default Hide'n my Synchros problem.

So, my 3rd and 5th gears are grinding as i shift into them. The 3rd one only grinds at over 4.7 RPM. while the 5th grinds at ANY rpm when i shift into it. I am plan'n on covering it upwith PENNZOIL SYNCHROMESH. How many qts should i use for my JDM B16A first gen in an EM1? And do you guy think PENNZOIL SYNCHROMESH are the best choice to cover it up untill i get it repair? BTW I have hydraulic tranny.

I wouldn't use anything from pennzoil. They are one of the shittiest oils available.
I would just try a thicker oil, and if that doesn't help, the synchros will probably need to be replaced.

Theres really no way to hide em when they start goin, I would go to a GM dealership and get thier synchromesh formula, when my turbo single cam started gridin gears I used it and cleared it up for about 1500 miles or so but...it started again soon afterword.

I had a grind going into third, I used the GM syncromesh friction modified fluid and now the only time it grinds is under full throttle shifts. It doesnt do it everytime like before. I think it should take a little over two quarts, I dont remember though.

when you say "cover up" does that mean just untill you sell it? cuz thats not cool, but a good way is saw dust, or is that for an auto?

Saw dust is for an auto... How do I know?

When I was 18 I bought a (Fairly new) '74 Chevy Nova from a guy. The tranny went out in it 2 weeks later. It was filled with saw dust. Needless to say, I was not impressed!

yeah if you are trying to cover up a problem to sell it, well I hope the buyer whoops your *** once they find out what you did. By the way your title says it sounds just like that. If not they why not just fix your problem instead of trying to "hide" it. Whats the point?

Synchromesh (Pennzoil or GM) masks the problem by delaying the shifts. The gears are harder to get into, so it puts less stress on the synchros. I was unimpressed with the synchromesh when I got it, but I know some people swear by the stuff. There is no "quick fix" to a grinding tranny other than to get the synchros replaced. Sorry

You dumb *** need to stop assume'n things. I am not covering it up to sell the car. I just want it not to gridn untill i get it repair. So dont' assume stuff you do'nt know about.
