Icon6 HELP!! P1456 90 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected

Hey,

I really need some help with this. My check engine light is on and the code is....P1456 90 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System) / P1457 90 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System).

I have looked all over and everyone seems to think changing the gas cap is the problem 95% percent of the time, but that's not it. I already bought a new OEM cap from Honda and reset the computer twice and the light came back on both times. I checked to see if the solenoids in the canister area were not working correctly by smoke testing them and they tested fine. Does anyone have any idea what else could be causing this problem? I found lot's of posts but none really say anything else besides the two things I tried. I know it's a common problem becasue they is all kinds of info out there but none of it has helped my circumstance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only other thing I can think is to change all the lines becasue I read that they can get clogged. PLEASE HELP, THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!

It means that your fuel tank isn't airtight. It could be a crack in the filler pipe, a loose hose or even a blown gasket at the fuel gauge sender.
Your car does a vacuum check on the fuel system now and then. If it detects it's not air tight, it throws a code. Now, the gas cap is the most common thing. But from the fuel filter to the filler neck something is not right. Look for a small gas leak, stick your head under the car and give it a whiff. see if you smell it, if you have a garage put sheets of news paper under your car over night and see if any leeks drip on it. There’s other things but try those first.

There is a pressure sensor in the system, check that to see if it is responding to pressure like a MAP sensor. I don't have the spec's for you sorry. If smoke test's show nothing then my money would be on the pressure sensor.
