Default HELP I keep blowing my Alternator, VSS, ELD fuse

Like the title says, I keep blowing the alternator, VSS speed sensor, ELD- Electronic Load Dectector, EVAP purge vent shut valve, oxygen sensors, and TCM fuse. All those are on the same fuse #15 in the interior fuse panel box. I checked the CEL codes and Im throwing codes:

20- Electrical load detector
41- Primary oxygen sensor heater
54- CKF - crank fluctuation sensor
65-Secondary oxygen sensor heater

Im not quite sure why I keep blowing the fuse, I think it might be something in the wiring thats causing it to short out and blow.

Here is a little history so you have a better idea of whats going on. I bought the car about a month ago, it has a B16. It already had a check engine light because the cat is gutted, so it was already throwing a 65 CEl code. On thursday night I was driving and then all of a sudden my speedometer stopped working, then my RPM gauge stopped working, then my car started to feel like it was running out of gas, but I had over a half tank. Then I pulled into a gas station, and my car slowly died. I tried to restart it but it would turn, just a clicking noise like the battery was dead.

My initial reaction was the alternator went out, but if that were the case wouldn't I be getting a code for that too? So after replacing the blown fuse, and jump starting it, it runs for about five minutes then dies again. when this happens I chack the fuse and the new one I replaced is blown. Does anybody have any idea of what this might be? If it is my alternator, how will I know? If its in my wiring any tip on how to locate where is getting shorted out, so I dont have to go throught all my wires?

Any info would be much appreciated. THANKS!

Thats odd. I had the same problem before my engine developed rod knock and kersploded all over main street. Now I just have no speedometer and I'm throwing both o2 codes and the VSS code. Best guess is my speed sensor has a bad wire but its too cold to check out. The electrical system has been a mess since this. Sorry I'm not much help but your not alone on this one.

Yeah I just wish I new if was the wiring or the alternator, or something. I really dont want to have to take everythign apart and check it out like that.

Could be a wire grounding out. I just helped someone with this like 10 min ago. His secondary O2 sensor wires melted and touched.

did that cause a VSS problem?

Im thinking thats what happened. Did you just cut where they burnt together and use butt connectors to re-connect the good parts?

did you really look under your car to see if they melted???

every thing you said that was on the circuit disconnect one at a time, each time replacing the fuse if it burns out, you may find exactly what sensor or circuit is shorted.

you are using the correct size fuse right??

look under the manifold at the engine harness it is very often damaged as it passes under the manifold next to teh bracket that supports the manifold. the harness typically rubs against the bracket and shorts out causeing those symptoms....honda has a bulletin about it and i have done that repair on multiple cars as well.

Try disconnecting some of these sensors and then just go thru a process of elimination.

Yeah it sounds like a short somewhere. Your car dying on you could all have resulted from low battery voltage.
