Default HELP! d16z6 block d16y7 head oil question

Hi, im new to the forum so i would 1st like to say hello!

Im about to start my turbo d16z6 y7 head build.. my quesion is

are the oil restrictors in the z6 head like the y7 and y8's?

Im here looking at my z6 block right now and it does not have a oil restrictor.

Basicly do i need to install a restrictor with my setup? or should i be good to go?

One more thing will i have too high of oil pressure with a z6 oil pump?

thanks

Ill take pics of my build when i start the tear down :-)

Update! i have found the correct information finally and i do not need an oil restrictor! witch is a plus im tired of spending money! LOL
http://www.d-series.org/forums/engin...ad-swap-3.html i hope this is all correct.. ima call honda tomorrow just to make sure

You will probably need an oil restrictor for your turbo. Not the engine. Not that the engine has any in the first place.

Yea i found out the oil restrictors in the Z6 y7 y8 are in the head so u guess im lucky i dont have to drill anything out.. just gotta notch my block still

the oil line for my turbo has a built in restrictor.

im going with a ram horn manifold and my question is.. is my oil dip stick going to fit between the 2 and 3 exhaust runners or do i have to bend it out of the way to be able to use it? the block is a D16z6 and its right in the middle. i need a new oil pump anways .. should i just get a y8 pump ? and move it to the side? and is the z6 block going to have to be tapped in order for the y7 dip stick and to get a reading?.. i have a z6 pan, y8 pump(if i bought it), z6 pick oil pick up and my y7 dip stick and tube? would all that work without drilling the z6 block?
i cant remember if the oil tube and dip stick on the Y series engines goes into the oil pump itself or does it go through the block near the oil pump??
its night time right now otherwise i would go look at my engine lol.. ill look tomorrow to anwser my last question.. but i would really like some feedbAck from someone that has done this setup..

if i did the y8 pump would i get a correct oil level reading sense i am using a z6 pan? i think they diff ? ones deeper?

thanks guys , Jason
