Default Help acceleration problem

i have a 2000 civic ex coupe. im having a problem with acceleration, ill step on it and it will lag till about 2.5, 3k rpm, then actually accelerate. id like to say its been doing this for about 2-3 weeks. any help will be appreciated ill try getting a video of it later today.

have you checked anything like ignition timing..?

do you have any codes (CEL)?

i had a check engine light before but it went away by itself, i found it kind of wierd, but other then that nope no cel.

i was also considering it being a vacuum leak from somewhere.

sounds like your ignition timing. but check for vacuum leaks. i had a problem just like yours. id step on it and it was like my b16 turned too a 50cc bike engine! down to ignition timing in the end.

it depends on what the timing light shows you...

as i understand codes don't go away, the light may go off but you should still be able to pull a stored code. also, confirm the CEL comes on for a few seconds and then off when you turn the key on. you could have a blown CEL bulb... (kinda rare, but possible)

it comes on when the key turns on. ill take it to a shop to check the timing.
