Default Heater Core replacement in a 93 Civic LX Sedan...how difficult?

My wife noticed a wierd smell coming from the vents when the fan it on. Smells like a antifreeze smell or dead animal. I guess there is a leak in the heater core.

Is this a big job on this car. Can anyone give me an estimate what it would approx cost for the labor and part? I looks like the evaporator unit has to come out from the AC unit?

Is this common for this car 10 years old and 108K miles?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you,

MIchael

Heatercores are kinda tricky to get to....But, once you get to it, its quite simple. Might wanna take it to a shop. I'd imagine it would cost a nice amount.
