Default heater core CEL

my heater core cracked so i just routed my heater hoses from one to the other in the engine bay, bypassing the core. would this get me to throw a code, cuz i think im throwing #1, like heated air or some s(&^%. is this why?

I bypassed my heater core when I did my B16 swap about 3 years ago now, never threw a code because of it. Oh BTW my car is an EJ so an OBD-II vehicle may be different.. But now I see your name includes EG so this wouldn't apply since your OBD-I just like mine..

You probably messed up your O2 sensor wiring when you pulled the heater hose off. A 1 code is a primary oxygen sensor code. Check the plugs make sure all they wires are still pinned.
