Head gasket for y8 block and z6 head?
I have a d16y8 block, with a d16z6 head bolted up, I should be using the y8 head gasket, right? I just want to confirm for this block/head combo. My current setup is leaking coolant at the head gasket, using y8 gasket, so that is why I want to confirm it is the right one.

Umm, you sure about that? I thought it was the other way around? I used 9 y8 bolts (96-00) and 1 z6 bolt (92-95). And actually, I'm not even sure the builder used the z6 bolt I gave them...so far as I know they used all 10 y8 bolts...

You're right, I had a brain fart or a temporary moment or dyslexia. You use the head bolts for the block you're using. But that 1 Z6 bolt will make a difference, since it's longer than the '96-'00 bolts.

Right, and I did get confirmation that the z6 stud was used in the solenoid spot. Well, out of ideas, car is on trailer as we speak and I'm taking it in to the builder. Hopefully I'll find out what is wrong soon.
