H.I.D. problem. (flickering bulb)
Alright so I had my HID's for about 2 weeks now, and ever since a few days ago my left light starts flickering when I first turn them on at night or something, but it ususally went away like 10 minutes later.
Then Last night When I turned on my headlights the left light started flickering, but in a way where it turns on and off, it did this for 20 seconds and just stayed off. I thought my bulb burnt out, but when I turn my lights off and turn them on again the light immediatly comes back on, sometimes it starts flickering again after 30 seconds and turns off, sometimes it just stays on for the rest of the ride.
at first I thought it was my bulb that burnt out, Now I'm pretty stuck?? I mean everytime it flickers and turns off, It will turn back on after I turn my lights off and turn them back on.
anyone have any slight clue? is my ballast defective? or??
any help, tips, suggestions, feedback would be great. thanks for reading.

its a bad connection. i have this. LOL. just gotta find ur bad connection. it's probably loose.
what's weird for me is i just positioned my ballast in different locations until my light would stay on. only cus the connections would be in a better position.

hey thnx patrickstar, for the feedback.
where was your bad connection at?
I think the only possible bad connection on my kit is from the power harness from the car to the HID ballast, because that is the only connection that I did ( the other ones were made to pluged to each other)

you might also want to , just to avoid lots of troubleshooting, test your kit in a different car to make sure the hid kit works...same thing happened to me with a flickering light and it was just a bad ballast.......you could also try switching the ballasts and seeing if the other light works with the bad side's ballast.....if any of that made sense to you i hope it helps haha

I would also say a bad connection but I experienced recently a bad connection causes a massive arc and the contact melted and the bulb never even came on. With that said it seems that the ballasts could be the culpret. Although it is hard for me to belive that after 2 weeks both ballast would fail. So Im back with every one else, bad ground most likley, maybe bad power connection.

Re: H.I.D. problem. (flickering bulb)
the weird thing is that side that never failed or never flickers, makes the constant power sound that HID make, while the other one makes the same sound but has intervals of pausing, like it was flickering even when it wasn't..
some random information- The side that flickers always flickers when I first turn on the light while the other one doesn't. which makes me think its the ballast.
As far as I remember 2 weeks ago installing it, the side that flickers has been flickering since the "burn in" process. then was doing good for a few days until it started turning off.
Information that goes against it - Sometimes when I break hard It starts to flicker, (could be a coincidence?)

My HID kit did that when I first put it in. Take the OEM headlight connection and pull the tongs apart a bit and reinsert. Mine was not making a solid connect and could cause it to flicker.

Re: H.I.D. problem. (flickering bulb)
oh yeah btw.. forgot to mention, I was making this whole thread about how my left hid was flickering and turning off, and how perfect my right Hid was performing.
well I jinxed my self, Today My I turned on my HID, My RIGHT Hid did not turn on, even when I restarted it, and everything it wouldn't turn on, I tried putting the OEM bulb back into the right side and it works, so I know there power going into the plugs, and I tried putting hid bulbs from the right side to the left side and it works so the bulbs arent defective.
Im guessing its the ballast? but its so weird and random how random parts of my hid kit is breaking.

I would suggest swapping components left to right to try and isolate the problem.
Are you using a relay harness or are you powering the ballast directly from the OEM wiring?

Yeah I'm going to try that right now, but I am powering the ballast directly from oem wiring.

in that case it just sounds like you're using some very power hungry ballasts.
See if the problem follows the ballast to the other side.

but you seem like you are a HID guru.. so your post intrigues me.. what makes you think my ballast is power hungry?

The symptoms you are describing sound like the same ones we experienced when sampling different products and testing them. Have you had a chance to swap the ballasts left to right?
