Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
i just used original bracket for my cable and remounted it on the firewall. right above manifold (left prethreaded hole), works pretty good. no rub or anything. you dont have to switch throttle body to b16.

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
make a bracket that raises that bracket and bolt it all together.
you could also just raise the bracket and use only one bolt to hold the throttle cable bracket together.

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
you would need a gsr throttle cable. its basically like this you would want to make a bracket so that your throttle cable bracket now (gsr one) will be able to bolt onto your ghetto rigged bracket then bolt the bracket down on the throttlebody

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
Thats odd, My car has the stock teg tb and intake mani and stock bracket with a gsr cable and it fit like a glove. Its a 97 coupe.

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
I used a couple of zipties behind the pedal to take up some of the extra cable. Just wrapped them around the cable.
But then again, yours looks like it has a TON of play in it, which I don't understand. I'm running gsr manifold, throttle body, brackets, and cable in my EK and it fits fine more or less.
Are you sure the cable's not broken in the middle somewhere?

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
hate to bring up a VERY old thread but I just wanted to add something to this since it served helpful to me I know it will serve helpful to anyone else who uses the search function. I haven't found anyone else who has ghetto-fabbed a bracket like ^ which is kinda why I'm reviving it.
I have the exact same problem as the OP and the long *** throttle cable he is using looks like the one I am using now in my CX. The throttle cable on the EX/HX/SI is the same (from what I have found) and the CX/DX/LX is different because the throttle body is mounted vertically instead of horizontally like in the ex/hx/si/ls.
To the OP, do you still have this set up? where there any problems with it? have you changed it at all?

Re: Gsr throttle cable in EK
I'm having the same problem, I read on the forums to use a EM1 throttle cable and I have a lot of slack underneath by the pedal. I used zipties and washers to take up the slack, but I want something reliable that is sturdy and works! Does anyone have a pic of how a stock gsr cable is routed? Thanks!

I used a P75 throttle cable bracket a M6x1.00 bolt and some creativity. (this is for an LS swap)
I forgot about this thread. I figured out how to make it happen cap'n. You route the throttle cable through the bracket that holds the hose from the brake master to the IM. The trick is though, you have to use the holders on the bottom.
Then you loop it around the shock tower and you can either run it under a strut bar (if you have one) or run it through an open space in the plastic thing that holds the washer hose.
Then you run it to the throttle body (using an EK throttle wheel on a GSR TB) adjust out the slack and you have a fully functioning throttle cable with no money out of pocket and stone reliable.
