GSR: Engine "bogs down" in VTEC, fuel cut off?
Hello, HT. I have an OBD1 1994 GSR engine in my 1999 EK hatch. The car has a jumper harness and some conversions for OBD2B to OBD1. Just recently, whenever I'm revving the car high, the engine seems to just stop revving at around 6k or 7k. It sounds as if the car just redlined. It doesn't do this all the time, however. It's very random and it has never happened at low RPMs.
Can this be an alternator or distributor issue? Long story short: My engine had a bad mount when i first had it, gave it a little too much gas, and the alternator smacked the engine bay and now it sounds like i have a mini-supercharger (sounds like the alternator is "winding" up) lol. As for the distributor, I have an OBD1 dizzy and I was told that an OBD2 dizzy is what I need for everything to be perfect. Should I just start pulling the engine codes to see if the problem shows up there? Any input and advice will be appreciated.
Edit/Update: Pulled the Engine Codes.

Have you pulled all the CELs since this has started happening?

I think the engine is misfiring now. Drove it awhile ago and it misfires in open throttle. I'm changing the spark plugs and wires to NGK real soon.

Will any of these cause misfiring issues, or cause the engine to just "bog down"? When you stand next to the intake manifold area when the car is on, you area able to hear a hissing sound, like air escaping. I sprayed the area with Carb cleaner but didn't see an idle change. Maybe a vacuum leak is the problem, right?

O2 sensor is measures the amount of fuel left in the exhaust gas so it helps the computer calculate how much fuel to "inject"
Getting the O2 sensor will help but it sounds like you have other issues as well.
How is your Dizzy rotor? I had a B18 that I put a Bosch rotor in and it did some really weird stuff and was very intermittent and variable as to how it would act.
Changed rotors and it was fine.
