Default Good Muffler but Inexpensive

Heres the deal...

I bought my civic yesterday and the stock muffler has a rust hole in it. Instead of replacing it with another stock muffler i wanna put something better on it. The thing is I dont have enough money for a whole new exhaust system, just the muffler.

MY question is will I get some performance increase with just the new muffler?

Im looking to spend tops $150. What could I get for that? I dont want anythign tooo loud either. It can be loud but not booming. Any suggesitons would be appreciated.

just get them to bend you some pipe, and then put whatever muffler they sell on there....like magnaflow or something.

I was quoted by a local shop $100 for the axleback section with a stock-like muffler. Figure you get a decent Magnaflo or Dynomax muffler, you'll be under your $150 limit, but it won't add much, if any at all, performance. Although I think you should just save up and get a full cat-back system. There's a group-buy in the Classifieds of a guy selling mandrel bent systems with ESs and Magnaflos for a really good price.
