Gas Mileage with EK Coupe & LS motor, wow.....
I finally decided to see what kind of gas mileage my ride gets. On 10.1 gallons, I managed to get 354 miles. That's 35 mpg. Pretty good, considering I did not do any highway driving at all, only city. This was also on an original cap/rotor, fuel filter, old spark plugs, heavy stock steelies, underinflated shitty tires with no tread, running alittle rich. Next week, i'm installed a new cap/rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter, tuning my ride, as well as getting my Rota Circuit 8 15's and yoko avs es 100 tires put on. My goal is to get over 40 mpg in the city and close to 50 on the highway. I might just have to plan a road trip to see if it's possible. I'll keep you posted on how the car does after the new additions. Does this sound pretty good to you guys? What type of mileage do you normally get?

I believe it, the gears are long, and the engine has more torque so it doesn't have to work as hard to accelerate the car.

I have timing issues to resolve but I only get 200-250 miles per tank in a combination of city and highway driving in a COMPLETELY stock D15B7. Kind of sucks.
Also, I swear I have a VX/CX fuel tank. Even when COMPLETELY burning fumes under the "E" line, I NEVER go above 8.9 gallons to fill up. The VX/CX tank is 10.9 gallons right?
So, that comes out to 19-23 MPG. Fahking SUCKS.

I am getting 34 miles per gallon in a B16a2 swap in a 2000 coupe. I got 36mpg going to Charlotte a while back. I am happy. I thought i would be getting 26 mpg. My D16y8 got between 36 and 38 but as good as 41. I am extremely happy with my mileage.

Re: (PLANBmotorsports)
::UPDATE::
I changed my plugs, fuel filter, cap/rotor, changed my oil to synthetic, and got my new 15's, rota circuit 8's like I was telling you guys about.
Before I did this I averaged 35 mpg. After this I was able to get 413 miles on 10.4 gallons with only one short trip (15 miles) on the highway.
I'm really impressed. I wonder if my mpg will go up anymore after I intall my turbo kit.

My 1992 Civic Hatchback DX 5sp (with 170,400 miles on the D15B7) gets 40 MPG. Only changes from stock are drop-in K&N air filter and AMSOIL synthetic.

you guys do know that gasoline fuel must actually be weighted for you to get a somewhat accurate reading of gas mileage, right???
Because when "GapxGuy" pumps gas in CA, its a different amount than lets say you "silverb18" pumping gas in AZ even tho yall can pump the same amount into the same engine mounted in the same car.
now i've made a smart *** comment someone finish the rest because i can't remember that far into auto tech class.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you trying to say gasoline expands in temperature?

Re: (racin-type)
I think he's saying that if GapxGuy and silverb18 both fill up their tanks... GapxGuy can get 2/3 of the way to AZ on 3/4 of a tank where silverb18 takes a full tank to get to FL.....
seriously though, what the hell are you talking about?
<- lucky to get 28 on a flat highway.

Re: (miahmouse)
I know gas expands in heat, like they tell you that you shouldnt top off your gas tank in the middle of the day (when hot) and not drive around other than to go straight home. gas started to drip out of my friends el camino when we topped off the car after comming home from a bar, and in the morning you could smell that **** around 1pm in orlando (gets hot) but i dont think thats what the guy was even talking about...he sounded like he took some xanax

Simple math man: Milage/Gallon . so if you put in 9.00 gallon and you drove 250 miles. Take 250 divided by 9.00 gallon you get 27.7 MPG.
I put about 9.5 gallon in my car and get about 300 miles. That's a little better then 30mpg. NOT BAD. EK-LS
