How much air am i suppose to pump into my tires???i have a 94 civic coupe and i believe they are 15 inch wheels.

It's a little bit different on each tire but look for something that say max pressure or something like.
Or post a picture of your tire and I'll circle it for you.

remember dont fill up to the max....thats just the number it can safely go before wierd crap starts happening

No, you fill it to what it says. Don't fill it to Max pressure, if that's what you mean. You should see a number on your tire that says ##psi. Usually around 35-44psi. Stuff is written all around your tire in a circle. Read everything until you see such a number.

come on ppl. Look inside the door jam. Theres a sticker with factory recommended pressure. It usually around 30-32psi. The number on the sidewall is the MAX safe pressure the tire can hold, you never want to run it at that pressure. That said its better to be a little over inflated rather than under inflated.

^Wouldn't that number be for the tires that it came stock with? Because otherwise, that's dumb unless they replaced the tires at the exact pressure.

My tires say 44psi and I run them at that all the time just fine.

No, the tire pressure on the door jamb is what you want to set your tires to. It doesn't matter what the tire pressure on the sidewall says.

agree, regardless of the tire, the tire pressure is car specific, not tire specific, in most cases

Well, that's all well and good. But if I'm filling tires 10 less than the tire is recommended for, it'll ride different than a tire at the same psi but set for that psi in the first place, no? The one that holds more would sit more flat, therefore affecting the car and ride different even if the psi is set to the car.

That's why all this, car pre set psi stuff doesn't make sense. I mean, to solve that, get tires that equal the car's settings but the physics of it don't add up.

its the max the tire will hold without going pop. and filling it that full can make it much easier to go pop. and think about how much more money youd have to spend to have 25psi specific tires 30-35 specific so on and so forth.

most are 44 some are 52.

do whats on the door jam. yea it'll ride different but its not what the tire is recommended its the MAX and the car is where you find the recommended for the tire.

DO NOT put the max psi listed on the tire in the tire.

the information is in 1 of 4 places.

look in the owner manual if you have it, under capacities and specifications.

look for a sticker in the driver door jam. it will list the possible tire sizes and their recommended pressures.

if it is not in the driver door jam, it may be on the inside of the gas fill door. or, it may be under the trunk carpet on a sticker.

it is in one of these places for any car on the road. unless the stcker has been intentionally removed or painted over.

i personally run 34psi in all 4 tires. not the recommended psi, but works best for me.

Tire pressure is tire pressure. Most likely its around 30 psi....

i know on the 92-95 civic ex's the stock tire size is a 185/60/14. the manufacturer recommend tire pressure is 29psi. there should be a sticker in your glove box with this info on it.
