Update:

Got everything back in, and the car drives amazing! First time experiencing a B series motor and it was a blast. Not entirely finished breaking the motor in, but its a very promising start. Drove like 5-10 mins around and i hit some hills and all the good stuff. Doing oil change tomorrow and driving to the muffler shop so they can weld that piping up so the header will meet the rest of the system. The pull of the car is fantastic, and the tranny gears is soo short lol.

Just as a tip for longevity, I would definitely have let the engine seat the rings and all before taking any test hits. You mentioned oil leaking from two cyl because the rings weren't seated, I would definitely see to that before thrashing on it any or you will have issues down the road. Looks good though, enjoy!

Well when i say hit some hills, i ment creating vaacuum going up so the rings seat. I didnt drive <20 miles before my oil change but the car has already been turned off, so im going to change the oil, amd go for 100 miles before changing the oil again. I think the rings are starting to seat because at first, decelerating at 3-5k rpms, it sounded like a atv, pop pop pop pop pop, but now, none of that. Still going to drive around breaking it in for 20 mina today at various rpms and see if it gets any better.

Update: so i changed my oil today, and not alot of metal shavings!! Extrememly happy about that, so put new oil in, and i primed the motor again, and rolled out to continue the break in of the rings. Was speeding a good bit and my radiator hose blew right off haha. Made it back to my house and i tightened up that clamp. Need to bleed it again.. I need to get a flex pipe so i can get my muffler taken care of.

Since im using an old *** obd0 jdm b16 head, i know the lmas are probably worn out, and the valves are out of spec. Car drives fine so far, so i think ill order the tool for the valves, and feeler gauges. Wont hurt to pick up new oem lmas as well. Thatll be in couple weeks if the car dont grenade lol.

So i went to the muffler shop a bit too late lol, i picked up a sweet 2 1/4 flex pipe from advance auto today.

Car feels nice and strong!!! Its so responsive, and quick.. idk if thats due to the b16 trans or the motor, but whatever it is, im loving it! My oil pressure matches my rpm gauge lol. These past days has been the most fun ive had with my car in a while! I need suspension now because its so damn bouncy lol. No ppwer steering lets me feel the road much more now and steering feels like old *** race car haha. More driving tomorrow!

Almost lost my **** today! Im driving and i hear a clunk! Oil pressure good, temp good, so i say what the hell. Get across the street from the muffler shop and the car shuts off and im like omg noooo, its too soon. I see the starter bolts backed out some. Still there though, and the crank pulley was wobbly as hell so i thought i broke the keyway on the crankshaft end. I was going to be extremely upset if all that hard work would have went down the drain, but luckily the keyway is good! The crank bolt just backed out a tiny bit just enough for the keyway to come out? Not sure completely yet. I hope timing valves didnt get bent. Idk how they would as the car was running the whole time. I was playing music and im using kind of a **** battery.. i hope everything is still good. Will find out today. I did get the flex pipe installed though!if everything is good, ill see how quiet the car is.

Did you recheck the tq on all those bolts after warming the car up the first time? I usually check all the main bolts for tq spec on a fresh engine after it's been run up to temp after the first 20-30 minutes it's been alive to make sure nothing has come loose or anything. Also very important to make sure everything is properly torqued to spec before you start it up as well. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but hopefully it's internally ok!

I did not recheck the torque specs, i should do that today! I got to re tight the starter bolts, and the crank pulley bolt. I really hope the valves arent bent. I know i have a weak battery, and my battery light came on, and it was driving fine and it just shut off. I thought i dodged a missile with the crank pulley coming off, but id be extremely upset if my valves are bent.. I hope its fine man.

The battery being weak should only matter during start up. Once the engine is running if your alternator is healthy and functions properly you don't even need a battery in the car. As for the valves, hope your ok too man! After you get everything buttoned back up do a leak down test and see what your looking at. Even worst case scenario with a few valves damaged, it's still only a couple hundred for a complete set of new valves so that beats having to rebuild your whole short block again!

I just cant believe my valves would be destroyed though. When i believe i heard the crank pulley slap against the crank pulley bolt, the car drove for approximately 20 mins after. 5 mins before the car shut down, the battery light came on. The timing belt looks perfect, the crank pulley never actually came off. Like, why this gotta happen to me????lol

Lol that sucks man. And the battery light prolly came on because the alternator output was fluctuating after the belts started to go haywire. I doubt it was because your using an old battery. Hopefully your head is fine, Atleast you werent WOT at like 9k Rpms when it happened lol. let us know!

Soooo, i put the motor at tdc, and the cams was ATLEAST 45 degrees off!!! I thought it was done for, plus oil in the spark plug holes. I expected the worst. Started it up, and im so very happy to say, that the car works just ******* fine!!!!!! And its nice and quiet as well, but when you go past 3k, it really opens up!! So very happy!!!!!

I was about to commit murder, if it had been messed up lol, going to go over everything tomorrow afternoon. Retighten all bolts, check hoses and all that good stuff. Motors coming along nicely. Oil pressure be at 0 psi at idle though. It goes up as i accelerate.. could just be the gauge not reading. Sometimes it be at 0, other times it be at 20. Cheap *** gauge lol.

So heres my twin loop i installed today:

It sounds better than my stock muffler. Nice tone! But its for an integra, and the flange is bigger than my exhaust systen so only 1 bolt hole lined up, so i got a big exhaust leak. Jad to ****** rig up with pipe cleaner lines, and bungie straps haha. Im holding it up there until i get some cash to take it to the muffler shop. Heres how it looks from behind:

Looks pretty good!! I got a sound clip of it also. Its uploading as we speak, so next post will be video clip of idle and just tapping on the gas.

Show me how you rigged it up, I believe you can use those clamps they sell at pep-boys, or parts store, and keep it tight. I'm just not sure how much they cost.

So i doing more droving yesterday, and i encountered a weird issue. When i drive, the rpm would dip, and the check engine light would flash off then back on, and rpm would go back to its proper place. All of this would be for a second. Its almost as the car shut off for a split second. The car would act like it shut off. I didnt notice if the radio turned off as well. Im thinking distributor problem?
