Default Exhaust leak on resonator?

Hi,

I'm currently running a greddy evo2 on my 00 si
i was told i developed a leak on the resonator ...

is there a way to just patch the hole?
Or should I replace the entire resonator
how much would it cost to replace?

Please help, i want to fix this problem asap.
Thanks

Depends on how long it has been leaking, and where the break is, I would get your car on jacks and look for black soot coming from the pipes, that will help you pinpoint your exact leak. If it has been open for a while, it may have begun to rot out, so a visual is a must.

cut the resonator off and weld new pipe in it's place thats what i would do!

its probably been at least six months since i developed the leak..

if its rotted out, does it affect flow?
or just the sound?

how can i tell if it's rotted out?
what visual cues should i look for?

it will affect flow, even a pin hole will affect it. This is why I hate the exhaust.

And even worse, the Pin hole leaks show up only under heavy load (in 4th gear @ 2krpms 30% throttle for instance)

This is why you need to visually inspect every inch, or even spray deep creep into the Throttle body, have somebody check underneath for any sign of white smoke. I would put a towel to "slightly" cover up the tailpipe so the leaks will expose themselves.

Easiest is to replace the section IMO.
