Default Exhaust Code Help

I have a P0420 Catalyst code on my 1997 HX. My question is... If I were to just get an exhaust system, including replacing my headers and just going all the way back would that fix the problem? Or is it my O2 sensors? Or do I need to replace my Catalytic converter? What's the best way to go about fixing this problem?

If it truly is the cat converter then replace it. It's just an HX after all.

Before you go buying anything, inspect your exhaust (especially your exhaust manifold) for cracks or leaks.

Check around the upper 02 sensor between cylinders #2 and #3. It is a common place for the manifold to crack. A new manifold cat is about $170 but i picked up a whole exhaust including headers for $190.

I checked last night and there were no cracks to be found. Also my check engine light just came on again this morning. Any help?

YOu seem to have already put your choices in front of you. Swap the cat or *cough* the entire exhaust system.
And stop asking for help when that's exactly what people are trying to give you. It's sounds like whining.

Read this. Help yourself.
