We aren't magicians. We can't tell you what you'll like over a forum. Hit up Youtube and start going through sound clips. That said, your exhaust doesn't have to be 2.5". You could do 60mm, or 2", or 3", or whatever you want. Different exhaust pipe sizes will have different effects on your powerband, but if you just want to do what everyone else is doing, then sure, go to 2.5" and call it a day. On paper, you would probably be better served with 2" piping, but in reality, the difference will be so minute that it won't matter. Smaller will also be quieter, which will be good for you if you live somewhere that cops love writing tickets to loud annoying imports.

That said, I like to keep exhaust cheap and simple. Whatever generic, cheap piping you can find, a Thrush Turbo muffler in the proper size, and a Flowmaster or Magnaflow high flow cat. Yes, a real cat, not a shitty test pipe. That combination has given me an stock'ish idle, good tone on the road, minimal highway drone, and a great yelling when I get into the gas.
