engine shake after miss shifting 2nd gear?
I was racing and on 2nd gear i forgot to shift ....... after i stopped at the stop light the engine shakes?? I dont hear no tapping sound or at least i dont think i did but when i drive its normal no shake everything is smooth. But when i stop the engine shake.... what happen? did i bent a valve or somthing?
I take the freeway everyday to work and I only got one car do you think its safe to drive it around? though the engine doesn't shake when i drive it? but when it comes to a stop it start shaking why why why???

Re: engine shake after miss shifting 2nd gear? (2s10w4u)
i forgot to look at the rpm and just floor it... plus i wasn't intending to race but the other person floor it so it got my hyped and i floored it to... I dont race much this is like my 2nd race well anyways i got a stock 99 si ......... as when it comes to 2nd gear i just floor it and over rev cuhz again i forgot to look at the rpm because of the excitement. So it comes to a start and motor start shaking....... could it be a bent valve?

That's why Honda built rev limiters into the programming of all their ECU's since the introduction of PGM-FI, for people like you who "forget" to shift. You can't overrev with your stock ECU. Any RPM you're at at any time in your car, your safe. Now street racing on the other hand, you're never safe... be it from cops or killing yourself/others.

Poeple like you need to not be racing on the street. Forget to shift doh. Haha how did you expect to beat him when you dont even know your car, where to shift to stay in your optimal power range, and wtf all engines have engine mounts, haha maybe you should learn a little before you come on here posting such newbish questions.

Way to, most likely, break a motor mount, hope you lost the race. Maybe your engine will fall out, since in your opinion, it has no mounts, and you won't be on the street driving. You need to stop being a 16 year old, and learn that racing is for people that can drive, and also on a track/strip. Hope your motor is blown. . .

Now we don't even have to criticize, you're making fun of yourself....

ignore the fools, yeh sounds like exhaust mounts or engine mounts. Don't think it will be valves. Engines cause different levels of vibrations at different revs, at idle an engine shakes more and has a huge shock when you hit the limiter. You should see how much an engine moves on a rolling road when you hit the limiter.

Yea but anyways appreciate your help I will check it out in a day or two and have a friend who build motors to help me out to see what the problem is.
