Default Engine automatic shut-off while driving...?

hello guys, I owned a prelude and a 99 civic LX model. Recently my civic have been giving me problems and I just can't diagnose what the problem is. I was driving my civic on a hot day on the highway and the engine automatic shut-off while my car is still rolling and I had to steer it to the side. I went and pop the hood but there wasn't anything that stood-out to be a problem. There wasn't any check engine light pop-up when the engine shut-off. Any suggestion for me to look for..?????? Thanks....

In replying to Hill4589, no the car does no bog when it died, the engine just shut-off. It kind of difficult to start it right back up, you have to turn it couples time before it start back up. And sometime it cranks but when you let go of the key the engine died. In replying to sloassSi, no i didn't called towe truck, I just let the car sit for 20 or 30min and then i try to start the car up and eventuall it start up and i drove it home. No at the time of the incident, there was about half a tank of gas. I just replaced the battery like 4months ago. I took off the alternator and took it to autozone to have it checked and they say it still good. So now I'm stuck. Any ideas or suggestion what might cause this problem. Appreciate both of you guys suggestion. Thanks.

I have a 92 civic and I think it was only a problem with the older civics but my main relay was bad and it acted a little like that. There was solder points in it that were cracked so when it was extremely hot or cold they would lose connection and cut power to the fuel pump and fuel injectors. I would let it sit for 5, 10 or 20 minutes and it would start and run like nothing was ever wrong. I've also heard of bad ignition switches. Check relays and switches. Sounds like it could also either be starving for fuel, plugged fuel filter?, or maybe running rich..too much fuel. If it dies on you again and is struggling to start try holding the gas pedal to the floor while cranking it over. I know with fuel injection that is a no no but sometimes if they're running way rich, by holding it to the floor you give it more oxygen in the cylinder to overcome the tons of gas and get it to fire and run. Go from there...

In replying to cityslicker1606, yes i try to check to see if the ignition switch is bad. In replying to egerdahl, I try to check for relay and switch to see which of them are bad. I was just curious where is the main relay locate it on a Civic? Yes sometime I would have to step on the gas pedal and crank the car to make it to work. But like I say it work sometime only, whenever you let go of the key it died. Thanks for both of you guys suggestions, I try to look for to see if there fault play in the switch and relay......
