Electrical Problem
Ok before I start let me just say **** this car..
92 Civic Hatch CX with D16Z6 swap
So anyways to get to the problem, for the past 3 days my gauge cluster battery, oil, seatbelt, and brake light have stayed on/ flickered without the key in the car after i turn it off. Sometimes even the car will stay on for a few seconds to minutes then sputtering and shutting down but with the lights still on/flickering and the key taken out of the ignition. It has been raining for the past 3 days here just for background info if that helps. Since I havent had time to work on it until tomorrow today it decides to **** me over and I go outside to give it a jump and me having ADD I accidentally put the positive terminal on the negative terminal and negative terminal on the positive terminal on the car being used to jump mine (I need to start paying more attention). So now with the terminals properly connected I go to start my car and I got nothin. A completely dead battery, no headlights, no heat/air flow, no door ajar beeping, no clicking when turning the key, but hey, i got a horn still? wtf..

Re: Electrical Problem
1) Check all the fuses under the hood. Some may be blown.
2) Clean the battery posts, connectors, and ground wire with steel wool. Remove the battery and have it tested at your local auto parts store.
3) You have a bad ignition switch that needs to be replaced.

Re: Electrical Problem
I looked at the fuses but Im not sure what they look like blown they looked ok to me.
The car should have started without the battery or alternator if its hooked up to another car right? My car ate an alternator a few months ago so I had to replace that with one outta my buddies parts del slow.

Re: Electrical Problem
Remove each fuse and check for continuity across the two terminals. Start with big fuses 41, 40, and 39.
Have the battery tested.
Another possibility is that you fried the under-hood fuse box.

Re: Electrical Problem
Update: Ok so the weather background actually comes in handy. Today it rained and my cluster lights haven't flickered since the last rain. The problem exactly is the battery light, oil light, seatbelt light flicker on and off rapidly and the temp guage flutters up and down with the pulse of the lights, like if you would turn your key in the ignition very fast thats what it would do. This is all when I shut the car off. When its on they do not flicker.
10 Minutes into driving in the rain today my right turn signal stayed on solid both on the dash and the actual corner lights stayed on.
I'll try to get a video up later. Thanks for the help so far

i would def be to check out ignition switch...you even said "like if you would turn your key in the ignition very fast"
if you think about it, when your first turn your key to accessory when starting the car right before you turn further to start, all of those lights come on....your ignition switch is f**ked...
as far as your headlights flickering, check all of the fuses in the main relay box as Ron said....

Re: Electrical Problem
My cousins 96 civic is having a similar problem. When she takes the key out all of the electrical components stay on. The only way she can get them to go off is to pull the negative battery terminal. Did you ever figure out what your issue was?

Re: Electrical Problem
What for when this only happens when it rains? On start up this morning my car was fine because I hadn't gotten the wheels spinning yet to throw water up wherever its going to mess something up. After a while then it started once water got into those naughty places.
