Unfortunately, most people get the terms wrong and now it's "common knowledge" that these abbreviations can also mean:
EF = 4th gen (88-91) Civic
EG = 5th gen (92-95) Civic
EK = 6th gen (96-00) Civic
Notice by looking at the other thread that this is incorrect almost all of the time.
Oh, and EKs aren't just JDM hatches. The EK chassis also includes many other '96-'00 hatches in other countries, along with many other '96-'00 sedans in those countries.
EG chassis cars also of course include many other models not mentioned in your post.
