EK4 is b16a EK9 is B16b - Neither were ever produced or sold in North America.

Wrong.
It's more like USA versus the rest of the world.
The EJ6 would be the '96-'00 Civic hatchbacks you see in the US. Both the CX and DX hatches here are EJ6s. USDM EJ6s also include the Civic DX coupe and sedan and the Civic LX sedan. All of those cars come with the SOHC non-VTEC D16Y7. The EJ6 chassis is also found in other countries (Canada, Europe, Australia and China).
The EK4 covers several different Civic hatch and sedan models. These models include the Ferio Si, Ferio SiII, SiRII hatch, SiR hatch and sedan, 1.6i VTi hatch and sedan, VTi hatch and sedan, VTi-S hatch, Jordan hatch, and the VTi-R hatch. These cars (depending on the trim and body style) are sold in Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Malasia, and the UAE. The EK4 comes with the DOHC VTEC B16A.
The EK9 is just the Civic Type R hatchback and Civic Type R Race hatchback. Usually both cars are referred to just as a Civic Type R. They are sold only in Japan and come with the DOHC VTEC B16B.
So in short:
EJ6 = 2DR / 3DR / 4DR, SOHC non-VTEC (D16Y)
EK4 = 3DR / 4DR, DOHC VTEC (B16A)
EK9 = 3DR, DOHC VTEC (B16B)
Check my sig for more info.

There was never an EDM CTR. They are often imported to Europe and sold there, but they are all originally from Japan.

They're imported to Europe from Japan by people who want one. They are not imported by Honda or sold there by Honda.

Re: (NOFX)
I wasn't trying to name all the codes.
Just trying to sum up the three he was asking about. All Three codes were included in what I posted.
Sorry I know that I miss a lot of them though.
That list on your sig is pretty baller.

There are also variants and rebadged 6G Civics. The 1.6EL, Domani and Integra SJ all being rebadged (and facelifts). Plus the South Africa Ballade. Then the Partner and Orthia for examples of Civic variants. And the Civic five door and Civic Aerodeck too. Not chassis we get here in the US, but still sold under the Civic nameplate.
Accords are much more confusing.

even if I wanted to import one I couldn't, the laws in EU are much more strict about that (especially in slovenia, i don't know why, but it's fcked up)
