DIY: 96 civic head lights
was alittle bored plus i wanted black head light housing for awhile plus i wont cuff up 450 on JDM LIGHTS
first you need to remove 4 bolts
2 bolts on the sides
fenders are a bitch to get to but not difficult
then you preheat the oven to warm and put one head light for like 15 mins
have a flat head screw driver in handy and try not breaking the plastic should come about pretty easy.
you should have 2 pieces layed out
tape the parts that you dont want painted
you need to shave of all the chrome to have nice layer to paint.. plus you dont want to bubble up on you from chemical reaction. i used a 1000 grid sand paper if you cant find any the smalls grid should be find. make sure you dont over do it .. dont want swirl marks
start painting i put like 3 coats
i used flat black
go back to the other pieces.
you need to clean all the old silicone
what i did i preheat the oven again and let it sit for 15mins
then i ran a small flat head thru it ... cleaned it out pretty good
try to find gray silicone but i used white ... thats the only thing i found around me
im playing to make another set.. these where just a test
BEFORE
this is a photo chop.. this is the color i like to get painted not orig color
cant find my orig picture
AFTER
hope you guys enjoy was not sweat
est time 2 hours could of dont it faster but i was at work

To you it must have been a successful DIY project, but it looks like **** IMO! It
must be the headlights or something. Cough up money for 99-00 or CTR
headlights. Cause igh those are so freaking ugly.
EDIT: It's the amber that's killing it. Still feel the same way about them though.

You have to change the whole front end to use 99-00 lights you jackass. Quit being a retard and give the guy some credit for doing a decent job.

Looks good....I would have cleared your lights as well though..I am not a fan of the amber signals..its looks cleaner without them
