Okey. i searched, nothing came up.

So here we go:
How to remove d-series TPS from TB
Tools:
1. You finger: to turn the screw
2. A fine screwdriver or anything of this sort
3. 3 pounds hammer or small one is good


Victim:
Old TPS on the old TB.
Why:
Your current TPS is broken or stop working and you dont want to buy a new TB (>$200).
Honda doesnt sell the sensor itself, plus they dont want us to take it apart. The only way to get another TPS sensor is to hack it off another TB.



How to:
Put the screwdriver in the position as pictured above (45 or 90 degree)
The screw will turn very easily (using your finger) once you gently tap it counter-clockwise.


You should get that. Remember, this screw was designed to be screwed by your finger



Now go to auto parts store and get the new screw (m5-.8) and reuse the 2 washers.

Next you need to tune the TPS so it could work well on your car (set up) <<<I dont know how to do this. Some one should do a write up on that.

You need to connect a multimeter to the tps and move the sensor around until the correct ohm specs are achieved.

With the TB closed, sensor disconnected, ign off:
Pins 1 and 2 = 0.5-0.9ohms
Pins 2 and 3 = 3.6-5.4ohms

You also need to be sure you have correct voltage, sensor connected, ign 'on':
Pins 1 and 3
0.5volts with the TB closed
4.5volts with the TB fully open


These specs should also be correct from the factory. If theyre not, and you havent replaced the tps, you know its time to do so.
If you have replaced the tps and these readings arent met, your sensor isnt positioned properly

You would need to CAREFULLY remove the old paper gasket. and reuse it.

FYI, an automatic punch works much better than a bigass hammer coupled with a little *** screwdriver.

My way is by far the easiest. Take a hacksaw blade and cut a slit into the middle of the head. Then use a flat head screwdriver to take em right out. Its easy...the metal is soft.

Or a dremel with a cut off wheel, easier to work with if you don't wanna remove the tb.

yes honda doesnt make new tps but there are other companys and here is a linkt to one and i know that ebay has them and blox makes them too and they come with gaskets

I saw a skunk2 video on replacing the throttle body. In that video he calibrated the tps outside of the car. How good does that work?

i use miny vicegrips to take them screws off mad easy just pinch and twist and bam they off and yeah only took me about 2 or 3 striped ones to learn that lol

As long as you get the correct voltage supplied to it...it doesn't matter where you calibrate it. In the car, on the moon, whatever.

good write up. i use the same method but instead of a small screwdriver, i use a reagular flat head screwdriver and any thing that is heavy enough to give the screw a lil persuasion and your done!!

small vice grips for the win. then i just go to my handy honda bolt drawer and find a screw. make sure you use some loctite.

I used a 3/4 inch old wood chisel. It made a notch and turned it at the same time. Being a carpenter has its advantages sometimes, especially when it comes to tool variety.

It doesn't matter how you get it off, we re al just trying to help each other out here right? So I found some sites here and there for adjusting the TPS for the H22 and they were the same method.

TPS can be calibrated off the engine. I understand the question because it is a pain to get at those bolts. I happened to have a set of 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" star tool sockets which helped me. A tiny 1/4" ratchet made a big difference. Aslo it had a lock position that allowed me to tighten and loosen with flipping the switch.

A while back I used some strippers and spread the wires open a little like I was stripping them and took another piece of wire and stripped it too, then I wrapped it around the exposes wire. Did this on all three, that way I could easily manipulate the TPS while another person handled the meter. I got this idea from seeing someone attach splicers that allow you to keep you wire intact and tehn have a second wire connected to it with a bullet style connector.

My method was good for the whole thing while installed in the car. But after done, I had to remove them and tape the wires back up. I guess I cold have depinned and used heatshrink, but I just taped and loomed it.
