DX, EX, HX?

Could be a problem with the integrated control unit or a broken Lt Grn/Red wire.

Dx, if there is a problem with the icu will the door switch still send a ground signal?i basically installed an alarm on the car all doors trigger the alarm except the driver side, so i was thinking if i cannot get the dome light to work if i can just tap driver side door switch with diode to alarm door trigger which is also connected to light green/red wire behind the icu and wondering if that will set off the alarm for driver side.

thank you for the fast reply

Sounds like your alarm install is causing the problem.

The alarm install should have been mentioned in the first post.

my apologies about not mentioning the alarm install, before the alarm install the driver side door still did not trigger dome light to come on when door is open all other doors does trigger dome light and alarm. im still not sure what can be done to either the alarm to work properly as well as dome light for driver side door.
door chime does work which leads me to believe door switch is still good.

any help is greatly appreciated

Only the driver door switch signal for the dome light passes through the ICU. The door switch signal of other doors for the dome light bypasses the ICU.

thank you for the image, i did tap my alarms door trigger wire to the lt grn/red wire in the plug that plugs into the icu as shown in the image. and the image does show the lt grn/red ties with the grn wire, but my alarm still does not trigger with driver side door open as well as dome light

Open only the driver door and then test for continuity to body ground at the Lt Grn/Red wire in ceiling light and also at pin B6 of the ICU. Is there continuity to body ground at either location?

If the driver's door switch is working properly, which sounds like it may since "driver side does give the chime with key in ignition as well as buzzer with headlight on"; one way would be to splice a wire from the driver's door switch's Green wire to the Lt Grn/Red wire for the ceiling light at connector C401. Connector C401 is a 14P gray connector located behind the driver's kick panel. The green wire is at pin 10 and the Lt/Grn wire is at pin 11 at this connector. These wires are to provide the ground for the ceiling light when the door(s) are opened.

Note: Lt Grn/Red is a wire with light green insulation and a red-stripe.

Bypassing the ICU will activate the chime and buzzer by opening any door.

You could also add a diode to the jumper wire so that the chime and buzzer still only come on when opening the driver's door; but, not from opening other doors.

I could not figure out why drive side door switch wire would not see ground.so i just ran a new wire to the switch and added a diode to the alarm.alarm now triggers with all doors.dome light not coming on wasnt really bothering me.

Thanks for all the input and help they are greatly appreciated
