Hello,
My car is a Honda Civic 5 door, 1.4 petrol 1998 model.

Yesterday the front seat driver belt caught on the "L Switch" had broken it, that controls the interior light and the door ajar warning.

My door ajar warning is constantly lit on the dashboard.

Does anybody know a place I could buy a replacement.?

Has it got a name?

I could try few breakers yard of which I am aware of. But if I know the name of the part it would help me. I searched the Honda's manual with no avail.!

It is my first post here in this forum and I salute you in advance for your helpful answers .

Its called Door Jamb switch.

Its honda part number: 35400-SL4-013. Im pretty sure you can buy a generic replacement at most part stores or snag one at your local auto recycler. Also I have no idea what country you're actually in.

Hop on to CivicLife.Net, which is UK-based and find someone breaking a similar car to yours. You won't find much help on this site which is mostly North American-based since yours is an EU-only car.
