Default Does water normall collect in the exhaust?

Hey guys, some of you might remember I posted about having a whtie residue around the radiator cap area and having a problem with a really bad spray of water coming out of the exhaust. I daignosed it as a blown headgasket but here is the weird thing.

Today i took off the muffler (stock) and it was pretty nuts. I shook it around and I can hear water and what sounds like small particles swishing around in there. So then i started the car, drove it a little. revved it sorta hard and there is no water coming out of the piping. Then I kind of realized that the white residue could have been left over residue from when the car had a d16y8 in it w/ a spun rod bearing + i dont know how many other problems it had.

So since there is no water squirting out of the piping, do you think my head gasket is actually fine? Do huge amounts of water normall collect in the muffler? Then again... the water that collected in the muffler could have been from the previous Y8 that was in the car... Come to think of it. The weird thing about this car is, was when the guy sold it to me w/ the y8 in it he took out the temp gauge. So all the pieces of this puzzle are kind of falling in place, but do you guys think my car is fine?

Here is one of the possible scenarios that i came up w/. The guy w/ the y8 in the car had a blown head gasket as well as a spun rod bearing. He was anxious to get rid of the car and thought that if a potential buyer were to see that the car was overheating they wouldn't want to buy it. So he takes out the temperature gauge to keep the potential buyer from seeing how hot the motor is. So water collects in the exhaust and sits there for months and months. Then I get the car, swap the y8 out with a z6. Notice a bunch of water coming out of the back and think it's the z6 w/ a blown head gasket when it's actually just left over water from the Y8... Do you guys think this is most likely what happened? Because I dont understand why the hell he would just take out the temp gauge needle.

how much are we talking here?

water (large drops, vapors, can collect into a puddle in some instances) comming out the exhust is a sign of a properly running engine. but excessive water is a whole other problem.

well when i took the motor to 4,000 rpm and launched there was spray about 6 feet behind the car. I'm going to contact the guy I gave the Y8 to and ask him if the headgasket was bad. Because i just think its reall really weird that this guy opened up the gauge cluster... took out the temp needle, and then closed it back up. I mean, who the hell would do that.
