Does rocker arms have to be installed in same position?
I swapped my b20 head and used an ls head. The question is however, do I need to make note of the rocker arms and make sure they are seated in the same positions as when I took them off? They all look the same and the numbers don't make sense either

Re: Does rocker arms have to be installed in same position?
yes I already know that thanks for the tip but the question is do I have to set the rocker arms in the same position as when I took them out? They have numbers on them but the numbers dont make sense. Like some of the rocker arms have "0" and "4" on them. But there are like 3 rocker arms with the number "4" on them and 2 rocker arms with the number "0" on them. It doesnt make sense.. Does it matter which rocker arms are place in which position? They all look the same to me.
Also for example, the cam holders have numbers and pointers on them so you have to put them in the same position.

see thats the problem. I got them mixed up and now Im trying to get them back in the same exact position but theres no guide to doing it. The rocker arms don't have an order to put back into position like the cam holders do. The numbers on the rocker arms are so random. Like I have 3 rocker arms with "4" on it and then I have 2 rocker arms with "0" and then I have only 1 rocker arm with "1" and another 1 with "8" on it. It doesn't make sense at all.

You poor unfortunate bast**d.I done the same thing.Checking for bent valves. If i had my time back i woulda hauled the top pan off in my car and used it for a refrence.See if you can find a buddy who has an ls motor in the garage somewhere. Then haul the top pan off and go from there
I was going to post it at the time i FU**ED up but i just sold the engine for $100 after.

Why the hell would you ask idiotic questions like this, get straight to the point on what you fucked up on dude and then we can help you from there.
Since the damage is done you will need to do a valve lash adjustment at cold temps.
