Does the D16Y7 block have an Oil Restrictor/ Oil jet?
Doing a D16Y8 vtec head on a D16Y7 block. Reading up on the mini-me conversions, I have seen over and over that you need to remove the oil restrictor/ oil jet in the block in order for vtec to work. I pulled off the head from the Y7 and see no restrictor. Is that right?

I've got a y7/z6 that I did several years ago and there is not a restrictor in the y7 block. From what I remember the restrictor in block is obd 1, obd 2 has the restrictive orifice in the head.

I think your right. I looked at 2 other Y7 blocks today and saw no restrictor. Thanks for the info.
