DIY Ek cluster in EG *help Needed*
Hey guys/gals.
Wondering if this idea would work, or if Im just digging myself into a hole.
I have a 94 Si coupe.
I just sold a cluster out of a 2000 SIR to a customer in the states.
When I got it for him, I was like Hey these things look pretty nice.
So now Im thinking I want to run one of those clusters in my car.
Now I know the EK style clusters are pretty big, and probably wouldn't fit in the dash of my 94 SI.
I've seen integra clusters retro fitted into the civic Dash, but never a EK cluster.
My question is, would it be possible to take the actual SIR gauges themselves out of the SIR cluster, and put it into my EG cluster?
They are the same exact size gauges of the EG.
any help/insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Travis

It's possible to put a ek cluster into an eg. I have an 00 EK cluster in my eg.
Search this site for the wiring diagrams/step by step how to. You will need the plug harnesses off the ek cluster.

Here, this is the link i used to re-wire my harness for the ek cluster...http://patriot.net/~merritt/gauge.html
It shows the wiring for integra clusters and 96-00 civic clusters into a 92-95. shoudln't be too hard..just match up the wires.

Ok sounds easy enough.
How was the overall fit of the EK cluster into your EG?
Any gaps, or modifications needed in order to get it to fit nicely?

Re: (djtrini)
yea, i had to shave it down a bit to fit with a dremel. There is a gap on each side, but i dont really mind. Im sure someone here can show you a clean install.

try taking the cluster apart. they look to be the same size. maybe you can just swap the gauges out from the ek to the eg. i wanted to do that but dont want to spend the money on it. on the back of the cluster, there should be 12 screws in total i believe. 6 behind the temp and fuel gauge. 3 behind the speedometer. 3 for the tach. if they line up like your eg mounts, you'll be able to just directly swap them. there are no plug-ins to the actual gauges. the screws are what transfers the power to the circuits.

I'm providing a link, but have not done this particular swap as I'm not that interested, but you can try e-mailing the original user of the link in hopes of getting pictures. But there is a write up in the link.
