Default DIY: delsol seats in to 92-00 civic

I was putting my seats into my 96 hatch and decided to take the time to make a DIY for the install.

1. things you will need: 3/8" ratchet, 10mm,12mm,14mm socket, and a Phillips
screwdriver

2. after you get the tools you need to unbolt your seats. they are four bolts holding them in.
front

back side
you have a plastic cover you will need to pop off with the screwdriver.

then take out the other 2 bolts

then remove them from the car. don't forget to unhook the seat belt indicator on the driver side.

Great now you shouldn't have any front seats.

starting on the side where the seat belt is you will need to remove these two screws

they are 2 14mm bolts you must take out and one 12mm nut. NOTE: you do not need to take off the seat belt lock thing.

then turn the seat over and remove the 2 screws on that side.

now on the lever handle you just pop in forward and it will slide right off.

now you do not need to remove this whole bracket but just the slide itself. there is one 10mm bolt and one (maybe two depending on car) 12mm nut (not pictured)

then it will just slide right off. in this picture you can see where the 12mm nut was located.

then you do the EXACT same thing to the delsol seats and install the sliders you just took off your stock seats and bolt them onto the delsol seats in the reverse order you took them off.

then you adjust you seat back to normal the enjoy

the delsol seats do sit lower in the car. in my opinion, i love it. the side supports are better and they are all around more comfortable seat.

i hope this helps all of you guys and feel free to pm me with any ?'s

Eugene

Very nice write up. I plan on doing this in my hatch. (pics and writeup will help a bunch) Quick question, is there any weight difference between the stock 94' SI seats and the Del Sol seats. TIA

Good how-to. I have these seats in my EJ8, and the install is a breeze. I actually removed the bracket that you did not, though. Still installed all the same, though.

Nice writeup. I'd so do that if my sol didn't come with them already.

I once saw the actor who played Mini-me in an Austin Powers flick drive a Del Sol. Let's not complain about sitting too low.
