Different B20 motor for a B20v does it matter?

I know that
95.5-98 JDM B20B are 8.8:1 p3f compression pistons
Rated at 126hp
99-00 JDM B20B are 9.6:1 PHK compresion pistons
Rated at 146hp
97-98 USDM B20B are 8.8:1 p3f compression pistons
Rated at 126hp
99-00 USDM B20Z are 9.6:1 PHK compression pistons
Rated at 146hp
does it matter what b20 bottom block i get for my b20v conversion?
i know the year have different hp and cp. thx HT

Well besides the obvious...
If you use one of the motors with the higher compression ratio then you will obviously have higher compression with the b20vtec setup, so yes it does matter IF you plan on keeping the bottom end completely stock.
However it is a good idea to get new rod bolts and get the rods shotpeened if you plan on keeping them. B20 dont take high rpms well for extended periods of time (8000k rpm+).

srry for bring this old thread back but what would be the diff if i did just want to keep the b20 stock, im planning on doing a b20v and i was wondering what b20 spec would be good for daily driving and ect im playing on putting a b16a2 head with itr cams
