Default did 2 wire iacv conversion and still problems

help me!! i'm running obd2b-obd1 harness on my '00 y7 that has a y8 intake manifold swap with td04L turbo. did the 2 wire iacv change using the info from ffsquad. double checked it and i still get code 14-iacv and my idle is jumpy. i've double checked the polarity is correct, but should i get any specific voltage across the terminals? when i checked it, it was in milivolts. i'm assuming this is a resistance type connection like the iat and probably doesn't have a very high voltage. in terms of the coolant lines i connected the one from the back of the block below the intake manifold to the port on the driver's side of the iacv and the line from the passenger side of the block where the intake mounts to the block to the passenger side port on the iacv.

i still have my y7 throttle body on with the iacv disconnected and the ports capped rendering the y7 iacv dead. i want to keep the y7 throttle body on so when i have to go for emmisions all i have to do is swap ecu, reconnect the y7 iacv, and step back to stock injectors to pass.

is keeping the y7 throttlebody on causing my problems? where do i go from here to troubleshoot my problem and fix it? this is driving me nuts! i want to run uberdata and tune so bad.

i hope i just figured it out...i never moved pin b6 to b23. i figured that the obd2b-obd1 harness would handle that, but maybe not. going to try and repin and see if that works.

anyone done this conversion and know for sure if that's what i have to do even with the conversion harness?

just moved pin b6 to b23 and cured the cel for iacv, but now the car idles as if i have a vac leak. i unplugged the y8 iacv and the car stopped idling with that 2k swing of a vac leak and the cel came on and the idle just bounced btw 1k and 1.5k.

i can't help but think that the y7 throttle body must go.

i just got done installing the y8 tb (luckily the y8 gasket was still on the tb and the y7 gasket stayed in 1 piece on the manifold, i just slapped it on) and left the coolant ports w/o coolant on it and it seems to run ok. slight raising/lowering of idle, but after driving it around it seemed to be ok. idle would get pretty low from the rich basemap i'm running. i think i got it. i'm going to tinker with the basemap i've got and see if i can lean it out a little and see what she does.

A friend of mine has a 96 Civic Hatch...we converted his harness...inside and out to a Civic 99 Spec..using harnesses from the SI's. Basically...we converted OBD2a to OBD2b. Interior harness is SI...engine harness is SI. Engine is stock civic D16Y7. Why are we doing this? Not sure..but we had to do a few things with engine harness to get it to idle correctly. Sounded like you have the same problem. The IAC on the stock civic has 3 pins whereas the SI has just 2. Color of the SI plug is blu/blk and yel/blk. The stock DX harness has 3 plugs..with color blu/blk...yel/blk and an extra "orange? We thought we just need to match the colors...like the blu/blk with blu/blk and yel/blk with yel/blk and leave the orange alone. Doing that causes the idle to surge up and down....

We use the plug from the DX harness by the way..to plug into the stock IAC sensor. So...to fix that idle surge thinging. We grounded the orange wire...and the idle went smooth like stock....and we tested....by not grounding it..and it surges. So..we fix it by grounding the "orange" wire.

I hope that help u some.
