ALL del Sols come with a removable targa top. US, Japanese, European... ALL of them.

Some overseas models (none in US) came with power tops called the Trans Top. Basically the trunk lid lifts up to right above roof level and the roof panel is slid into the bottom of the trunk. Then the trunk lid closes. It's a painstaking conversion for US models and other models which did not come with the power top.

Here are the part numbers showing all the US models had the removable roof panel.

Default FV-QR

Just checked the price on the roof panel alone. It's over $550.

LOL

No, I'm white (Irish and Native American).

Being Japanese would probably help though. Maybe then I could read some of the other stuff I find out there.

I would, but my local Honda has a union, so other employees get the jobs first.

Oh, and I know very, very little about 5th gens. Only know some stuff about 6th gens.

to the OP... I think your friend may be hinting to you that he is calling the Del Sol by its technical name... the CRX DEL SOL. he is thinking that the CRX is the hard top version of it but its not really. just in the name.

If his friend was that clever I think he'd find a more clever way to say it.

For one, there is NO del Sol without a removable top.

Yes, the del Sol was also called the CR-X del Sol and the Civic del Sol.

There were 1st and 2nd gen CR-Xes without removable tops though. But they never had any sort of del Sol name badge associated with them.

I think his friend just doesn't know or is confused.
