Default Del Sol Headlight Question

I haven't really looked at it yet but I was wondering a few things about the removal of the headlights and corners on a 96 del sol. Do you need to remove the bumper at all to pull the headlights? Does anyone have like a schematic or anything? My chilton is a piece of crap and trys to cover too many different models. BTW I got the clean looking del sol 1 piecers off ebay so the more info I can get now, the faster I can post pictures and write a critique of the lights. TIA

according to the helms for 1995 delsol vtec.
1.remove the front bumper.
2.disconnect the 3-p connector from the front turn signal/parking light.
3.remove light(parking is what they mean) by removing the screw.
4.disconnect the 3p connector from headlight.
5.remove the mounting bolts from the headlight and replace it.(4 bolts)
6.after replacement, adjust the headlight to local requirements.

never had to do this, only bulb replacement. dont know if this is true?

I dont recall having to remove the bumper, the side ones come out pretty easily take out the one bolt holding it in, (If there is one - Mine was missing but theres a spot for one) then pull it out. Then for the main pieces take out the top two bolts and I BELIVE it will come out, there might be one on the bottem but I dont recall one.

You do however need to take the bumper off for the Aux lights theres no getting around that one.

Also to change the bulbs none of these steps are nessicary.

Hope that helps you out.

you do have to pull the bumper for the headlights. there is a little metal bracket on each side with 2 ten's holding it in that braces the headlight hidden by the bumper. It doesn't take long though, 5 min max for both. I pull my passenger's headlight everytime I go to the track, and put it back in before I go home.

ok I wasent sure, he should just be able to pull the top screws out tho and bend it back enough to do so?

I for some reason think a Universal will fit in there but I cant remember off the top of my head.

just looked at picture in helms again. two bolts under/bottom of headlight. looks like bumper has to come off at least partially.

exactly. when i just take my passenger's side out, i only have to pull off half the bumper, so I can get a socket on those 2 ten's, but if you have to do both headlights, then you might as well just pull the bumper off entirely.

hmmm, i've never had to take my bumper off to work on both/either of my headlights. Really, and my front bumper is molded on. I mean, i had to somewhat wedge it in but i did it without taking off the bumper (because i couldn't ) I've never had to mess with the Aux at all except for changing the bulb.

Yeah, my front bumper is molded. Unibody actually. don't ask, it was a cool idea at the time. not any more . im looking into having the front broken off atleast.
