Default D16Z6 oil dipstick comes up dry - Where did the oil go?

ok so i gotta change my oil later on(reached 3k miles)
but i check the oil level when the car was cold. like i started it & turned it right back off cause i wanted to check it before it got hot
so i check it & see that the dipstick comes up dry
so i drive the car to the front of my house, park it up etc
check it again, & theres deadass 1 DROP OF OIL on the dipstick
WTF ??? where did all this oil go ??
i wanna know what caused the oil to decrease to that much cause about a month ago when i checked it, it was overfilled
anyone got suggestions ? any help would be accepted, thanks

Is there any fresh oil seen on the top or bottom of the engine?

Do you see blue smoke in the exhaust while driving?

Inspect the entire surface of the engine for fresh looking oil. You may want to post some clear pictures to get the most help.

Your pictures show the oil fill hole on the valve cover, which does not help much. Again, we need to see clear pictures of the engine outer surface (top, bottom, front, back, left, right).

oo you wanted the outer surface
sorry didnt realize what you meant. but there isnt any oil resiude on the top front or left side
right side cant see much due to the ps pump, but there is fluid but its the ps fluid cause i was moving the car without turning it on. so i guess it started leaking, not to sure

my guess is your burning oil but not enough for it to be pure blue...... my z6 does this but it's due to the valve seals motor burns 1 quart of oil per 1500 miles unless i beat on it than it's like 1 quart per tank of fuel..... fill the car up with oil again and do a wot pull somewhere and look behind you my bet is there will be blue/black smoke...

Make sure you tell him to look in the rear view mirrior or have some one ride with him to see if he burning oil.. you dont want his crash on your hands there civiclx... I would say its more then anything your valve seals are bad or going bad

i guess it was that i checked the oil when the car was ice cold, from parking the previous night to that morning it wasnt turned on so maybe thats why it showed up nothing

but thanks & yea im sure on a WOT i'll notice the blue smoke coming out IF i was burning oil. thanks again HT

The engine oil should be at its highest level after sitting overnight. This is actually the best time to check the oil.
