Default d16z6 in EK?

well..I was gonna go turbo...but my engine is now fucked...so i decided that I want to go N/A d16 vtec. Because the price is so cheap for the extra horses that my D16Y7 doesnt have...I've decided to go this route. D16y8's only have 2 more HP than Z6's....and Z6's are much cheaper. ($250-$350) The problem is...is it self swapable? I plan on swapping it myself cauese I'm not that stupid. I know how things work...but its a Z6 and not a y8 meaning...different engines..so will anything be a problem? I plan on keeping my DX tranny cause it has longer gears...and that's what I want....anyone suggest something different? Basically...I just want a SOHC VTEC engine...I was thinking about mini-me but its just too hard to find parts and with the money for the parts, I can just buy a whole engine instead of just the head, manifold, ecu...what are your suggestions? will a z6 fit PERFECTLY in a EK? or should I just do Mini-Me? how much will a Mini-Me cost? Thanks

It is possible but I think in CA the engine has to be same year or newer than the car. You would also need ECU, axles, tranny, etc.

how come i would need new axles and tranny? Is it not possible to keep my DX tranny and axles...I'm a little confused..as far as I see it...I THOUGHT I only need the head, manny, and ecu which I already stated... are there any good websites about mini-me's? or anything close to it? Thanks

your tranny and block, axles, should be cool. Good luck, although, sometimes these things turn out to be very expensive.

In all states I believe it's illegal to have an engine older than that of your chassis.

yes that is true..its illegal...but what if you just want to do a Mini-Me..? its just the head that gets changed..My car is OBDII and z6's are OBDI..is it still posible to swap the head from a z6 to a y7 block?
