Default D16Y8 stumbles on acceleration

it's a 98 d16y8 in a 89 stumbles on acceleration and on Highway only doesn't stumble if I give her lots of gas past 2 3/4 rpm. Standard new plugs wires cap. 180 compression on all 4 cylinders.

May be an intermittent fuel injector. Listen to them with stethoscope while idling. If one sounds a little weaker keep listening to that one for a pause in the pulsing. Engine will confirm your finding. It can be very elusive but my 2000 dx had similar symptoms. Ran great at speed but still felt a few light engine "jerks". At idle engine seemed to jump and want to pull the car forward a few inches.

Sorry for he late reply. The ecu is out of a 95 civic don't know of it has any codes since I can't find the obd port (no clue what the guy before me did when he did the swap) it does happen intermittently sometimes a half hour straight or 5 min and stop for a bit than do it again weird. I took a screw driver to each injector and listened 2 of them sound normal one of them sounds like a ting sorta and the last one sounds like a high pitched ting when it pulsates but it does pulsate could that be the problem?

Some sites say that a d16y8 needs a p2p ecu and I have a p28 is that true? If so would it cause the car to not run properly?
