D16y8 Street Car
Hello,
I just wonder if I would like to start on an 2D Civic EX 99-2000 manual model... What would be the option if I would like to have the accelaration boost but still would make it street friendly... Looking probably to keep the engine stock (Don't want to build the engine)... And maybe would like to know too what is the max HP & torque I would expect from a stock internals that would make it still safe...
97 Civic LX AT
AEM CAI
MSD Sparkplug
KYB AGX
Throttle body conversion to Y8
16" KUMHO ESTA ASX[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Re: D16y8 Street Car (SOHC4life 96)
What I currently have is an LX.
But the one that I will try to work on on for the next 6 months will be an EX 2D(Manual)... And yes I have searched on the database... Maybe to be more specific, is what kind of FI should I be doing if what I want is a street car(good handling and good acceleration)...

97 Civic LX AT
Is it an lx at or an ex 5 spd?
AEM CAI
don't waste your money on that just get a short ram intake or the passwordjdm whale *****
MSD Sparkplug
Oem or NGK will do much better
KYB AGX
I would get some springs with that. Depending what you want do. I have the Neuspeed Race and I love them.
Throttle body conversion to Y8
Very good idea it will help alot
16" KUMHO ESTA ASX
don't waster your money on does shitty tires get some Yokohama Es100 or Kumho ecsta SPT now does are good tire that should last you about 25000
to be honest with you it's be answered before but I am in a good mood today so...
what I would suggest is get a nice set of wheels and put some good tires on it. Then I would do the suspension mod because it will be the one that make the biggest DIFFERENCE in the way the car rides. You will be more happy on a suspension mod then getting some stupid CAI that will give you maybe 2 hp at most. Get the SRI instead of the CAI.
Then when you are craving more power go with nice turbo much better then N/A. I prefer N/A but on a Dseries turbo is the only way.
if you don't like the turbo thing the just swap.

Will the feature of the EX like the ABS brakes, VTEC, manual tranny, be something that is worth trading my 97 LX (Automatic).

Re: (LyghtFunky1)
One other question is it saver to boost using a turbo or supercharger... I would probably be using this car for daily driving too... so I want something that will preserve the rialibility of a civic...
