D16Y7 Water Leak Issue
I had a previous topic opened about a mysterious bolt that I thought went to the timing belt cover... Found out it was actually the lower right mounting bolt for the water pump. There has been a small leak coming from around the pump the whole time. Its been slowly leaking... Like 1 drop every 15 seconds... and as many as 5-10 drops every 10 seconds. I was able to remove the water pump and change the gasket. The original gasket was pretty much flat. After changing the gasket and putting everything back together. IT STILL LEAKS!!
Does this mean the water pump is bad? Is there any other way to check the water pump? I heard about a "weeping hole", that if the gasket or bearing on the inside of the pump is bad, water will come out of the "weeping hole." But I cant see any water coming from this hole... It seems like it is coming from in between the motor and pump.
FYI: This is all coming from AFTER a blown head gasket change out. Had a small blow in the gasket which caused coolant to seep into the cylinder and have steam come out the exhaust. Changed the gasket no problem. Changed the oil twice and no water/coolant in the oil.
I don't know what else to do. Its a #&^@( getting to the pump...
ANY help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Re: D16Y7 Water Leak Issue
The actual motor is a swap. I did it about two or three years ago. I believe the pump is OEM and the motor had well over 100K miles on it when swap was performed, two years ago... hope this helps.
