Default D16y7 - transmission main bearing replacement

Tranny started making noise that went away when clutch was pressed so i replaced clutch and throw out bearing thinking it was the problem. Replaced the transmission and still same problem so i opened tranny yesterday and a bearing is broken. Can anybody tell me bearing name and How hard of a job am I looking at? Thanks

Its the top bearing on left thats broken

That's your mainshaft.

I just did this work and, in my opinion, getting the transmission out was the hard part.

There are a ton of write-ups for how to replace the bearings.

You can order the bearings individually here: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...5=MT+MAINSHAFT

Or, you can go into the hondamarketplace and find a sponsor that sells a kit for way less money.

Call Synchrotech, and order the complete rebuild kit. Like CX-Adam said, getting it out and open is the hard part. While you have it out and open, you should absolutely replace all of the bearings, seals, and synchros.

You should be able to get a bearing puller on the inside of the outer race. Alternatively, a dremel with a diamond cutting wheel, cut it at the fluid passage, and break it out.
