d16y7 no start
I am working on a Civic in the shop that will not start. It's a 99 DX. It has fuel, has spark, however, It seams like the the actuall injectors are not fireing. They do work, I tested them with a 9v battery, and they are clicking, however, when we try and start the car, it does not work. I am thinking the distributor is not telling the injectors to fire. Anyone else have any ideas? The crank angle sensor does not have continuity, so it is good according to all data.

Ok, so you have spark when the starter is turning, right?
Have you checked compression?
Does the camshaft turn?
No noise from the injectors when you start, right? look at ECU connections. Check power supply going in and power coming out...
Crankshaft sensor? Camshaft sensor?
Fuel pump working?
Any trouble codes?
Just throwing ideas here... But check the ecu carefully. Check the connectors...

If it was just a swap, I could do this. I have done 2 swaps, one being on my car, another on a freinds and one was an auto to manual conversion.
This "shop" is my autoshop at school. I have been going through posts, and I cant find anything that is related. I am considered the l33t kid in my class expessailly when it comes to honda's I need to keep my reputation lol.
I am thinking distributor, however, I am don't know anyone with a newer honda, most have integra's or eg's so I can't just borrow someones distributor and see if that works.
The car is completely stock.

Got noid lights? Install'em in place of the injectors and SEE if they are recieving a pulse. If not, is there battery voltage to the injectors? Check wiring integrity for the injectors.
The 3 sensors inside the dizzy should measure some resistnace...something like 350-700 ohms. Aside from that, you say you checked continuity...you mean like if they were shorted to ground? If not, this is what I mean by 'verify wiring integrity'.
Any codes?

Re: (EE_Chris)
alright, little follow up. In one of the manuals that I was using, it said to check to see if there was continuity in the CYP, CMP, and the TDC sensor which is all located in the distributor. To do this, unplug the distributor, and connect pins as follows
1234
x678 Connect 2 and 6, 3 and 7, and 4 and 8. IF there is continuinty in any circuit, then that sensor is bad. So 4 and 8 there was continuity, so we found a used distributor, put that on, it fired right up.
