Re: d16y7 distributor (99hatch)
yeah it's late but I'm almost 100% sure that they are the same, and they d15 cx dizzy is the same also. Also there is no such thing as vtec dizzy. For example if you take d series d16z6 dizzy and cx dizzy you can swap all the cx internals to the z6 dizzy. Believe me.

Re: d16y7 distributor (ABK)
I always thought that "dizzy's" only vary from obd0, obd1, obd2, etc... I remember reading something about a guy with a z6 dizzy on his b16, not 100% sure
After searching, I'm hearing from both sides... some say that VTEC dizzy's don't line up correctly to bolt up.
I'm not 100% sure. Good luck.

No, they are not the same.
People are gonna get REALLY ******* pissed with this info when they own a 96-98 Civic and go and buy a 99-00 distributor - you're now dealing with the 8 or 9 pin plug issue.
To the OP: Will a Y7 dizzy be compatible with a Y8 head - if they are the same inter-OBD2 generation.

Ok...They are not the same
However, you can run an obd2b distributor on an obd2a harness

Plug-n-Play? No rewiring needed?
The OBD2b dizzy's are the ones that don't have the Blu tach output wire.

I'm even leary of this statement.
For anyone who has actually seen the Helms knows that the D16Y5 (5spd), from 96-00, stayed the same - OBD2a. It used the same ECU connectors - A, C, D while the rest of the 99-00's used A, B, C.
There are only 3 distributors used from 96-00:
96-98 Cx, Dx, Ex, Lx all use 30105-P2E-A01
96-00 Hx uses 30105-P2M-A01
99-00 Cx, Dx, Ex, Lx all use 30105-P2E-A11
It would seem the difference between the P2E-A01/A11 is the 9 vs 8 pin plug (with the A01 using the 9 pin which had the Blu tach wire output).
Has anybody used a P2M dizzy with an ECU that originally used a P2E?

not quite. for 92-95 cars, CX, lx, dx have the same dizzy, the ex needs a different one due to the vtec solenoid being in the way. i have no clue about the vx tho, but i would assume it uses the same as the ex.
but back to the topic, i've also heard that all d16y dizzys for a given obd are the same

Re: d16y7 distributor
PM the user if you have hope they are still available.
Please check the dates of threads before bumping them back up. Odds are not in favor of getting a decent response in these cases.
